Spider-Man 2 Reportedly Rakes in $1.3B, But PC Only Brings 5%

Alinea Analytics estimates Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has earned about $1.3 billion, with PS5 accounting for over $1.2 billion and Steam just $70 million โ€” roughly 5.3% of the total.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has reportedly swung past the $1.3 billion mark in lifetime revenue โ€” and no, that's not a typo. According to an estimate from Alinea Analytics cited by Tech4Gamers, the PlayStation 5 version pulled in over $1.2 billion of that haul, while the Steam release contributed only about $70 million. That puts PC at roughly 5.3% of the game's total revenue.

Worth keeping in mind: these numbers come from a third-party analytics firm, relayed through a single Tech4Gamers report. Sony hasn't published any official financials or announcement matching them, so treat them as estimates rather than gospel.

The same report pegs the game's estimated sales across all platforms at around 19.1 million copies โ€” with about 2.3 million of those still moving in 2026. Not bad for a title that's been out for a while.

On the PC side, the picture is less rosy. The report claims Spider-Man 2's Steam launch peaked at roughly one-third of the concurrent player count that the previous game managed. It's held up as one of the weaker PC performances among PlayStation's first-party ports.

That leads the report into Sony's broader PC porting strategy. The argument goes that port revenue isn't enough to offset the controversy surrounding these releases. It also notes that earlier this year, the company's financial reports dropped language about a multiplatform system for exclusive games. That's the outlet's observation and interpretation โ€” Sony itself hasn't made any public statement about changing its PC approach.

To be clear, both the revenue and sales figures are estimates and may differ from official financial disclosures. The Steam concurrent player comparison also comes straight from the report's author, not from Sony.

So what do you think โ€” is Sony's PC push worth the hassle, or should Spider-Man stay a PlayStation exclusive? Drop your take in the comments.
