Phantom Blade Zero's Final Trailer Crushes Black Myth: Wukong's Views on YouTube

Phantom Blade Zero's final trailer has racked up 7.59 million YouTube views, far outpacing Black Myth: Wukong's 2.95 million, and overseas fans are taking notice ahead of its October 29 launch.

Phantom Blade Zero is making serious waves overseas, and the numbers are kind of wild. The upcoming wuxia action game from S-Game just dropped its final trailer on October 21, and on YouTube it's already blown past 7.59 million views. For context, Black Myth: Wukong's final trailer sits at 2.95 million. Yeah, you read that right.

The three-minute-ten-second trailer gives us our best look yet at what's coming when the game launches on October 29 for PC and PS5. You play as a swordsman whose heart has been gravely wounded, leaving him with just 66 days to live. He spends those days on the run through a world of flashing blades and bloodshed, chasing the truth and trying to unravel a massive conspiracy hanging over the entire martial arts world.

The final PV pulls back the curtain on the core story for the first time, and it's packed with visual punch. We get a look at the combo-heavy combat, some brand-new exotic weapons entering the fray, and boss fights that look genuinely oppressive in the best way. If you've been on the fence, this is the trailer that'll probably push you off it.

Over in overseas communities, that view count comparison sparked plenty of discussion. One player put it pretty level-headedly: they don't expect Phantom Blade Zero to match Black Myth: Wukong in sales, and it doesn't need to replicate that game's commercial miracle. But judging by the heat it's generating right now, the player base for this one is going to be huge.

It's worth remembering that Black Myth: Wukong set an incredibly high bar for Chinese games going global, so seeing another title draw this kind of attention before launch is a big deal. Phantom Blade Zero isn't trying to be the next Wukong, though. It's carving out its own identity with that stylish, combo-driven wuxia combat, and players are clearly hungry for it.

Pre-orders are still open if you want to lock in your copy before launch day. With October 29 right around the corner, it won't be long before we see whether all this trailer hype translates into a game worth the wait.

Are you planning to pick up Phantom Blade Zero on day one, or are you waiting for reviews? Let us know in the comments!
