Player Fakes Business Trip to Grind Phantom Blade Zero, Recalls Black Myth Surgery
A gamer is going to extreme lengths to play Phantom Blade Zero, even lying to his wife about a work trip. He also reveals a wild Black Myth: Wukong story involving ankle surgery.
You know that feeling when a game is so close you can almost taste it? One player is going to some truly wild lengths to get his hands on Phantom Blade Zero, and his story has the whole comment section cracking up.
Phantom Blade Zero just dropped its final trailer, and in the comments, a fan shared his master plan: he's taking next week off work and telling his wife he's going on a business trip. The catch? He can only bring a laptop, because hauling his desktop PC out of the house would be way too suspicious. Fair enough.
But here's where it gets really good. He mentioned that two years ago, for Black Myth: Wukong, he actually timed an ankle surgery around the 20th of the month so he'd be stuck in bed for a whole month. You read that right—he went under the knife just to game. This time, though, he admits the same trick won't work again.
The replies came flooding in. "I can't handle this, bro is really going that hard for a game?" one person wrote. Another joked, "Why does playing a game feel like committing a crime? Is it really that serious?" Someone else straight-up asked, "What does your wife have on you? You have to hide just to play?" One commenter even shared a similar tale: "Funny enough, during Black Myth I happened to be on a month of work injury leave. As soon as my leave was approved, I bought the game and started playing."
To his credit, the original poster clarified things in a follow-up. His wife isn't against him gaming—she's against him playing for more than two hours straight. If he takes time off and just games all day without doing chores, cooking, or watching the kid, that's a no-go. On regular weekends, after handling all his responsibilities, he's left with maybe an hour before bed. He can only play after his daughter falls asleep, and he has to wear headphones to keep the noise down. He sighed, remembering that two years ago he could game for ten hours a day.
Phantom Blade Zero is currently up for pre-order. So, what's the most extreme thing you've ever done to play a game? Pulled a sickie? Skipped a wedding? Let us know—we promise we won't tell your wife.
