New Uncharted Game with Nathan Drake Reportedly in Development at Naughty Dog

A new report claims Naughty Dog is developing a new Uncharted game featuring Nathan Drake, led by Shaun Escayg. It's not a remake and is expected to be years away.
Did you think Nathan Drake's story was over? Think again. A new report claims that a brand new Uncharted game featuring everyone's favorite treasure hunter is in active development at Naughty Dog.
According to MP1st, this isn't a remake or a remaster—it's a completely new entry in the series. Nathan Drake will appear in some capacity, but it's unclear if he's the lead, a supporting character, or just a cameo. The project is being helmed by Shaun Escayg, who previously directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Escayg has been teasing the project on social media for years, and earlier this year he visited Trinidad for "research," posting a picture of a very old-looking cannon. Sounds like Drake might be heading to the Caribbean?
This new Uncharted is reportedly set to be Naughty Dog's next game after Intergalactic, the studio's upcoming sci-fi title that's speculated to launch next year. Naughty Dog recently confirmed that we'll get a proper look at Intergalactic in 2027, so the Uncharted project is likely still a few years away.
But that's not all Naughty Dog has cooking. The studio has also confirmed multiple The Last of Us projects in the works beyond the existing HBO TV series. Series creator Neil Druckmann has stayed mum on what mediums these projects will use—they could be shows, films, books, or games. Naturally, fans are hoping at least one is The Last of Us Part 3.
For now, the new Uncharted game is expected to be at least a couple of years away. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End released a decade ago and gave Nathan Drake a satisfying sendoff, but since he survived and stayed in the treasure-hunting business, the door was always open for another adventure. And who knows? Maybe this time he'll be joined by his daughter, Cassie, who clearly shares his passion for exploration.
So, what do you think? Are you ready for more Nathan Drake, or should Naughty Dog focus on new IP? Let us know in the comments!
