KCD2 Player Conquers Kuttenberg with 43-Man Army

A Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 player used a mod to raise an army of 43 and storm Kuttenberg, but the coup turned into a bloody massacre that ruined his save.

Ever wondered if you could just waltz into Kuttenberg and take it by force in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? One player did exactly that, and the results were as hilarious as they were disastrous.

In KCD2, you play as Henry, a lad caught up in the messy business of kicking Sigismund of Luxembourg out of Bohemia for the imprisoned King Wenceslas I. The game's story has you conspiring, heisting, assassinating, and sabotaging your way through the economic stronghold of Kuttenberg. But what if you skipped all that and just charged the front door? That's what this player decided to do, using the "Companion Squad" mod from Steam user Triget.

With just two keystrokes, the mod spawned an army of mercenaries with unique names and faces. The player then called in favors from a "Heroes" section, summoning Hans Capon, the entire Jan Zizka crew, Godwin, Erik, Istvan Toth, and even Radzig and Hanush from Rattay. The framerate strained under the weight of 43 allies, but the army was ready. There was just one problem: Henry had no pants. A save loaded on a new PC had somehow lost his padded hose, leaving him to lead the charge in his underwear.

As they entered Kuttenberg, a guard took issue with Henry's unsheathed sword. A fight broke out, and the warband—dubbed the "murder clump"—instantly killed the guard. But the army was set to "defend" mode, so they only fought when Henry was attacked. The player switched to an offensive stance with F6, and the murder clump began attacking guards on its own. Kuttenberg's finest were no match for a blob of plate armor and sharpened steel, and the eastern entrance was soon cleared.

Then things went off the rails. As the clump charged toward city hall, half of them broke off to ransack an inn. That's when the player realized the army was set to "Bandit mode." The murder clump attacked everything—nobles, innkeepers, silver miners, musicians, and all the guards. Despite attempts to switch back to "defend," the army had spread out and wouldn't always listen. In less than 20 minutes, the city ran out of guards, except for those who fled. The military coup had become a scorched-earth ransacking.

By nightfall, the streets were bloody and quiet. Seven soldiers had died, Hans and Zizka were super dead, and Henry himself was near death thanks to guards targeting his bare legs. They stormed city hall and found empty rooms—Sigismund had presumably fled. Henry said a quick prayer to apologize for the senseless murder, then took a seat in a fancy office and crowned himself king (or mayor, or whatever) of Kuttenberg.

Job done, but the player doesn't recommend this strategy. The save is completely messed up: countless quest givers are dead, and every town in the region wants Henry hanged for his crimes. Still, it was a lot faster than finishing the main story. Would you try this in your own playthrough, or is a 43-man murder clump too chaotic for you?
