KCD2 Multiplayer Mod Hits Open Beta: RP Servers & Co-op Chaos

A modding group has launched an open beta for a Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 multiplayer mod, turning the RPG into a persistent open-world platform with RP servers and synchronized combat.
Ever wanted to roam medieval Bohemia with your buddies? Well, now you can. A modding group has just dropped an open beta for a multiplayer mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and it's available right now for anyone who owns the game on Steam.
This isn't your typical co-op mod that just adds a second player to the story. The developers behind KCD Multiplayer describe it as "the ground for many kinds of multiplayer on top of the game you already own." So think of it as a platform for all sorts of online shenanigans, starting with free roam.
When you hop onto a public server, you'll be dropped into the game's RP server mode. That means you and your friends can explore the entire map of Bohemia together in a persistent world where doors, gates, and chests stay the same for everyone. No more phasing through each other's worlds—it's all shared.
The modding team has also shown off combat clips on Twitter, and it looks like they've nailed the feel of the game. Perfect blocks and ripostes are fully implemented in multiplayer. As the devs put it, "Every punch, block and dodge lands the same on both screens, because the server decides the damage." That's some serious netcode wizardry.
This move mirrors what we've seen in other communities—like the seamless co-op mods for Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, or even Sekiro Online for a game that never had multiplayer. But instead of just adding a friend, the KCD2 modding crew is building an entire framework for role-playing and beyond.
If you're a KCD2 fan, this is huge. It means you can finally share your adventures in a world that feels alive with other players. The open beta is live now, so if you own the game on Steam, you can jump in and start riding across the countryside with your crew.
What do you think? Will you be trying out the multiplayer mod, or are you sticking to the single-player life? Let us know in the comments!
