Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Gameplay Shows Off Upgraded Dungeons

Nintendo's new short video spotlights the remake's classic dungeons, including the Great Deku Tree, Forest Temple, Jabu-Jabu's Belly, Water Temple and Fire Temple, with jumping now a key exploration mechanic.

How Nintendo would bring back the legendary dungeons of Ocarina of Time has been one of the biggest talking points among Zelda fans, and we just got a fresh look. A new short video from Nintendo puts the game's dungeons front and center, and it's a pretty exciting tease.

The clip rapid-fires through several levels, showing off upgraded gameplay and combat. You'll see Link solving puzzles, squaring off against enemies, and taking on bosses, all in quick succession.

First up is the inside of the Great Deku Tree, complete with that iconic spider web stretched across the floor. From there the camera takes you through the Forest Temple and straight into the belly of Jabu-Jabu, the giant fish. The Water Temple and Fire Temple also make appearances in the video.

One big takeaway from this Switch 2 gameplay: jumping looks like it'll matter a lot in dungeon exploration. Link needs to hop between different platforms to make his way forward, which adds a new layer to how these familiar spaces play.

That said, it's still unclear whether Nintendo has significantly expanded the original dungeons. Based on what we've seen, some dungeons may have gotten a few adjustments, and it's entirely possible new rooms have been added, but nothing's been confirmed yet.

For now, the video gives us plenty of details to chew on without spelling everything out. If you're hungry for more, keep an eye on the Ocarina of Time remake coverage. What dungeon are you most excited to see reimagined?
