Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Console Is Absolutely Gorgeous
Nintendo has launched a stunning Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 console and accessories in Japan, featuring Triforce designs and hidden pixel art. The set is available now while stocks last.
Nintendo just dropped something that'll make any Zelda fan's wallet tremble. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, the company has officially released a themed Nintendo Switch 2 console and a full lineup of matching accessories in Japan. And yes, it looks absolutely stunning.
The limited-edition console puts the Triforce front and center in its design, but here's the cool part: hidden pixel-art patterns of Link and Zelda are tucked into the body of the system. It's the kind of subtle detail that rewards you for looking a little closer.
The same series includes a Pro Controller that comes with its own display stand, which is printed with a Hyrule map pattern. The matching carrying case and cleaning cloth also feature exclusive commemorative motifs inside. The whole set is now on sale at major game retailers across Japan, and it's strictly while supplies last—so if you've got your eye on one, don't sit on it.
If you can't make it to a store, there's more Zelda goodness happening on your phone. The Nintendo Today! app is rolling out Zelda collectible cards, and the third pack—the "Echoes of Wisdom Card Pack"—is already live. You can grab one card per day, and completing the daily quiz earns you medals that can be exchanged for cards you missed in previous waves, plus wallpapers.
On top of that, the Nintendo Store app has kicked off a GPS check-in event at physical locations. Head to a designated Nintendo section, sign in, and you can randomly receive a limited-edition sticker. As you'd expect, gift quantities are limited, so it's first come, first served.
