Find the Echoes of Old Battles Jianghu Legacy quest in Qinghe, defeat Zhang Bao, and reach the Yanyun Oath wall puzzle.
Echoes of Old Battles is the quest that leads to the famous wall puzzle in Where Winds Meet. It begins in Qinghe rather than at the underground statue.
## Where to start
Travel to **Battlecrest Slope** in the Verdant Wilds and speak with the eavesdropper near the fortress gate. The quest appears in the Qinghe Jianghu Legacy list. Some guides also point to the Wayfarer at Moonveil Mountain as the lead that reveals the treasure story.
## Clear the fortress
Enter the ruined fortress, fight through the guards, and face **Zhang Bao** in the training area. Search the chest or treasure-map clue after the fight. It points toward the contraptions needed to open the underground route.
## What comes next
Activate the required mechanism, use Mighty Drop on the structure that rises from the training ground, and descend. Inspect the unusual corpse to learn the Yanyun Oath gesture. The gesture is required to make the wall blocks appear.
Do not search for the wall puzzle before starting the Jianghu Legacy quest. The statue chamber will not behave like the guide screenshots until the quest and gesture steps are active.
