Where Winds Meet: Another New Wing Walkthrough – Chapter 1 Guide

Start your journey in Where Winds Meet with our guide to the first main quest, including finding clues, learning new skills, and choosing your first weapon.
Just been knocked out and robbed? Welcome to Where Winds Meet. After waking up to Ruby's scolding, you'll get your first big quest: Another New Wing. Let's walk through it together.
First, search the area near the Bamboo Abode for clues. Head inside the house to grab the Lattice Door blueprint and a chest with the Rider's Gilded Mask and two Echo Jade. Then check the broken door to the left – that dragon mark is a clue. Investigating it rewards you with your first real weapon: the Jiang Wulang Old Spear. Equip it and read its origin in the inventory menu.
Next, look at the stone with red engravings by Ruby. That's a Boundary Stone – a fast travel point. Then go back inside and examine the writing on the desk. It opens a hidden compartment with a letter from Wei, mentioning the Dream Puppet Calamity. After that, interact with the table in the corner to trigger a cutscene, finishing Memories Awakened.
Now you need to take Ruby to the General's Shrine. Find her outside and talk to her to start walking. Follow the quest marker until you hit a broken bridge – jump across. At the top of the cliffs, you'll meet an archer practicing on birds. Chat with him, and he'll give you Archery Tips and teach you the Still Waters Mystic Skill, which improves your aim while reducing movement. Practice on birds, then challenge him to a shooting contest. Win to earn eight Echo Jade.
Ruby will run off, and you'll spot a Wayfarer by the road. Talk to him – he gives you the World Map and unlocks the Qinghe exploration meter. Keep an eye out for more Wayfarers later; they unlock new map areas.
Next, the Wayfarer asks you to chase off a bear blocking the path. Follow the marker and watch the bear – it knows martial arts! By observing it, you'll learn the Tai Chi Mystic Skill. Use Tai Chi to throw the bear into the rocks beside the tree. That breaks the rocks and reveals a chest with five Echo Jade. Then help the guy with his head stuck in a hole – pull him out. He'll give you fire arrows to shoot the beehive the bear wanted. Climb the tree, grab the hive, and bring it back.
After that, you'll get to choose your first weapon art. Pick from the Panacea Fan, Thundercry Blade, Infernal Twinblades, or Ninefold Umbrella. The fan and umbrella are great ranged options with style; the blades are more straightforward and hit hard. No wrong choice here – it just unlocks on your skill tree.
Finally, grab the Wulin Journal and meet Ruby at the General's Shrine. Follow the marker, fight some enemies, and loot chests along the way. That wraps up Another New Wing: Begin The Journey.
