Where Winds Meet Wall Puzzle Solution: Echoes of Old Battles

Solve the Yanyun Oath wall puzzle in Where Winds Meet, unlock the sealed treasury, turn the water wheel, and claim Touch of Death.

The wall puzzle in Where Winds Meet appears during **Echoes of Old Battles**, the first Jianghu Legacy quest in Qinghe. The puzzle is underground, in a square chamber with a large statue and rows of illuminated stone blocks.

## Quick solution

The wall must display the eight Yanyun Oath characters:

- **Left wall:** 山 河 寸 土 - **Right wall:** 誓 死 不 易

Pull out or leave lit only those eight blocks. Push every other interactable block back in so it dims. The gate opens when the two walls show exactly the oath characters and no extra block remains illuminated.

Some guides describe the same layout by block position rather than by character. Because camera orientation and block layouts can look different, the character solution is safer: use the Chinese characters first, then use the position instructions as a visual cross-check.

## Start Echoes of Old Battles

Go to **Battlecrest Slope** in the Verdant Wilds and talk to the eavesdropper near the fortress gate. The quest is listed under Qinghe's Jianghu Legacy content. Current guides also note that speaking with the Wayfarer at Moonveil Mountain helps surface the lead.

Enter the ruined fortress, defeat the guards and Zhang Bao, and inspect the chest or treasure-map clue in the training ground. Follow the clue to the required contraptions, activate the correct mechanism, and enter the underground area.

## Learn the Yanyun Oath

Inside the underground route, inspect the unusual corpse to learn the **Yanyun Oath** and its gesture. Continue to the room with the large statue, face the statue, and perform the gesture. The wall blocks extend and become interactive only after this step.

## Finish the room

After the correct characters are lit, the stone gate opens. Continue through the passage, pass the rope trap, and drop into the water-wheel chamber. Go behind the waterfall and activate the hidden mechanism. The last gate opens, leading to the Northern Vow treasury.

If the door does not open, reset the wall by pushing in every wrong block and then light only 山河寸土 on the left and 誓死不易 on the right.
