Sydney Sweeney's 'Hollow' Cast Revealed: A Modern Sleepy Hollow Tale

Sydney Sweeney will lead Sony's modern reimagining of Sleepy Hollow, titled 'Hollow,' with Belmont Cameli joining the cast. The film is based on an unpublished novel and set for a 2027 release.

Get ready for a Sleepy Hollow like you've never seen before. Sydney Sweeney is officially set to star in 'Hollow,' a modern take on the classic tale, and the cast is starting to take shape.

According to Deadline, Sweeney will play the lead, Katrina Van Tassel. She'll be joined by Belmont Cameli, known for his role in 'The Sex Lives of College Girls,' who's been cast as Brom Bones. The key third point of the love triangle, Ichabod Crane, is still being cast, so we'll have to wait to see who steps into those shoes.

'Hollow' is a Sony Pictures production, based on an unpublished novel by Lindsay Anderson Biah. The book itself isn't hitting shelves until fall 2027, so the movie is definitely playing the long game. But the premise already sounds like a wild ride: it flips the traditional narrative, retelling the Sleepy Hollow legend from Katrina's perspective, blending gothic atmosphere, psychological mind games, and supernatural erotic thrills.

Biah is pulling double duty, writing the screenplay and directing the film. That's a strong sign the adaptation will stay true to her vision. Production is a family affair, with Lab Brew, LuckyChap, and Sweeney's own newly launched production company, Honey Trap, all involved.

So what can we expect? If you're a fan of gothic horror with a steamy, psychological twist, this one should be on your radar. Sweeney has been on a roll lately, and seeing her take on a classic character like Katrina Van Tassel is definitely intriguing. Plus, with the original author at the helm, there's a good chance the film will capture the book's unique vibe.

We still don't know who'll play Ichabod Crane, but you can bet we'll be keeping an eye on that announcement. 'Hollow' doesn't have a release date yet, but with the book coming in fall 2027, the movie probably won't be far behind.
