Quantic Dream Thanks Fan Who Turned Detroit: Become Human Into a 6-Hour DLSS 5 Movie

A Chinese content creator used DLSS 5 to recut Detroit: Become Human into a nearly six-hour cinematic experience, and Quantic Dream itself showed up to say thanks.
You know that feeling when a game's story is so good you wish you could just watch it like a movie? Well, one fan actually went and did it — and Detroit: Become Human's own developer noticed.
Detroit: Become Human is Quantic Dream's interactive drama, first released back in 2018. With its cinematic presentation and branching narrative, it's still winning over players years later. But now there's a whole new way to experience that story.
Over on Bilibili, a creator going by the handle @凯文不是大叔 (Kevin Is Not an Uncle) used DLSS 5 technology to rework the game's content into a "pure enjoyment" film that runs close to six hours long. The project stitches together large chunks of the game's story, letting viewers take in the full narrative in a format much closer to a traditional movie.
That's a serious labor of love. Six hours of cinematic editing isn't something you knock out in a weekend, and the result apparently caught the attention of the people who made the game in the first place.
Quantic Dream — the studio behind Detroit: Become Human — showed up in the comments to thank the creator directly. In their message, the team wrote: "Thank you very much, @凯文不是大叔, for your craftsmanship. This film took a huge amount of time and effort, and we hope all players and fans enjoy it."
It's always nice when a developer takes a moment to recognize what the community builds around their work. Fan projects like this don't just celebrate a game — they introduce it to people who might never have picked up the controller themselves.
So if you've been meaning to revisit Detroit: Become Human, or you've somehow never experienced it, this six-hour cut might be the easiest way in. Grab some snacks, settle in, and let the story unfold.
What do you think — would you watch a full cinematic cut of your favorite game, or do you need the controller in your hands? Let us know in the comments.
