God of War Ragnarok Hits 21.6 Million Sales, $1.4 Billion Revenue
Estimated sales for God of War Ragnarok have reached 21.6 million copies, generating $1.4 billion in revenue—making it the highest-earning PlayStation first-party game this generation.
God of War Ragnarok just keeps winning. According to estimates from Alinea Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott, the Norse sequel has now sold a staggering 21.6 million copies worldwide.
The breakdown? A whopping 20.1 million of those sales came from PlayStation platforms. That's a whole lot of folks eager to see Kratos and Atreus wrap up their saga.
What's even more impressive is that Ragnarok isn't just a launch-window phenomenon—it's a genuine evergreen title. This year alone, it moved another 1.1 million units, raking in nearly $60 million in revenue. And 68% of that recent haul came from PlayStation, showing the console base is still very much engaged.
Those numbers are no joke. Elliott notes that Ragnarok's 2026 performance actually outpaced new releases like Gears of War: E-Day and Saros. Yeah, a game that's been out for a while is still beating fresh faces at the box office.
Part of that sustained success comes from PlayStation Plus. Ragnarok joined the PS Plus Extra catalog two years ago, and since then, 6.7 million subscribers have jumped in to experience the adventure. Even with subscription access potentially cannibalizing sales, the game has kept right on selling—a testament to the sheer pull of the God of War IP.
And here's the kicker: total revenue for God of War Ragnarok has hit $1.4 billion. That makes it the highest-grossing PlayStation first-party game of this console generation. Not bad for a father-son road trip through the Nine Realms, huh?
So, what do you think—did you double-dip on Ragnarok, or are you still holding out for a PC sale? Let us know in the comments!
