Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Gets Huge NS2 Update

Capcom dropped a massive bug-fix update for Dragon's Dogma 2 on Nintendo Switch 2, squashing everything from quest-breaking glitches to weird eye movements.

Dragon's Dogma 2 just got a surprise update, and it's all about making your Switch 2 adventure smoother. Capcom announced today that the NS2-exclusive patch is now live, and it's packed with fixes for some truly bizarre bugs.

If you've been playing the Dark Arisen DLC (which launched October 9), you know the game is massive. With that size comes the occasional hiccup, and this update tackles a huge list of known issues. From combat quirks to NPC oddities, the team has been busy.

Let's talk combat. The update adjusts the facial expressions of the Arisen and your pawns during certain actions. It fixes an issue where pressing the stop button during the Warrior's "Godsbane" thrust sometimes wouldn't interrupt the move, preventing follow-up attacks. Also, the "Reflector" skill should now properly trigger between the Arisen and Sigurd. And if you've ever been grabbed by a Chimera and couldn't escape, that's fixed too. Speaking of pawns, they'll no longer get launched into the air during fights with certain enemies—though we know some of you probably found that hilarious.

Visuals and world behavior got some love as well. Skeleton soldiers' eyes will now glow as intended, eyeballs won't spin in unnatural directions anymore, and you'll fall off cliffs less often (we hope). The "Explore" command now actually makes your pawns explore instead of standing around like they forgot what they were doing. And after battle, your character will finally put their weapon away properly.

Quest and NPC fixes are here too. Chatting with Hal and choosing "Reforge armor appearance" could sometimes trigger a quest dialogue and block the reforge—that's resolved. Nameless pawns and NPCs won't pace back and forth endlessly in specific spots. In Nogen, NPCs who die will now be sent to the morgue as they should. The quest "A Beggar's Wish" (or Emond's long-cherished wish) will no longer fail you even when you meet the completion conditions. And quest-critical mechanisms should display correctly now.

Menu and system bugs also got squashed. If you removed button assignments for "Sprint 2," the settings screen and controller image showed weird icons—fixed. Remapping "Reset Camera" or "Custom Skill 5/6" used to reset every time you restarted the game; that's no longer the case. The Mystic Spearhand's "equip from storage" feature now properly moves your original weapon to storage. Death counts won't carry over between save slots anymore. The appraise results screen won't ask if you want to equip gear when you receive Wyrmslife Crystals or gold. Typing "<" won't freeze your cursor. The tutorial for "Start from inherited save data" will show up. And if your storage exceeds 2500 item types, the tutorial text won't be blank.

Other fixes include: processed armor appearances reverting after paying a guard to leave jail (now they stay), riding ox carts outside business hours (now properly restricted), and loading issues when waking from sleep mode in handheld play. Even a rain-like visual effect on the save select screen is gone.

That's a hefty patch, and it shows Capcom is listening. Have you encountered any of these bugs on your Switch 2? Let us know in the comments!
