Xbox Game Pass Loses 9 Games in October, Including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Xbox Game Pass is removing nine games in October, headlined by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and The Casting of Frank Stone. Subscribers can save 20% if they buy before they leave.
Did you just start Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Game Pass? Better hurry—it's one of nine games leaving the service in October.
Every month, Xbox Game Pass giveth and taketh away. October is no exception, with a hefty list of departures that includes one of the best games of 2025. Yes, we're talking about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is set to leave on October 15. If you haven't finished it yet, you've got a ticking clock.
But that's not all. A Plague Tale: Requiem is also on the way out, along with the Dead by Daylight spin-off The Casting of Frank Stone. Horror fans, take note: losing Frank Stone during the spookiest month of the year is a bit of a bummer. Also leaving are Crime Scene Cleaner, Donut County, Evil West, Superball, Nova Roma (Game Preview), and Pacific Drive.
Evil West is another standout—a solid 7/10 monster-slaying romp that's worth a play before it vanishes. Pacific Drive, an eerie roguelite driving game, was a favorite when it launched a few years back, blending tense atmosphere with mystery and survival. If you've been meaning to try either, now's the time.
As always, you can save 20% on any of these games if you decide to buy them before they leave Game Pass. That's a nice little incentive to keep your progress going.
September was a bloodbath for Game Pass removals, with 18 games packing their bags—including heavy hitters like The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Sifu, and Frostpunk 2. October's list is smaller, but it still stings.
So, what's your strategy? Are you rushing to finish Clair Obscur before October 15, or are you picking up a few of these at a discount? Let us know in the comments!
