WoW Forever Beta Adds 'Recent Allies' Feature to Boost Group Loot

World of Warcraft Forever's beta introduces a 'recent allies' system that remembers players you've grouped with, pushes them to your layer, and highlights their nameplates to encourage pro-social play.
Ever grouped with someone in WoW, had a great run, then never saw them again? World of Warcraft Forever's beta is testing a fix for that with a new 'recent allies' feature.
This system keeps track of players you've grouped and interacted with. It then actively tries to place those players in your layer when you're online, so you're more likely to cross paths again. Think of it as the game nudging you toward familiar faces instead of constant strangers.
But that's not all. The feature also changes the text color of your recent allies' nameplates. That visual cue makes it easy to spot someone you've played with before, even in a crowded hub or during a chaotic world event.
The goal here is clearly pro-social. By remembering past interactions and highlighting them, Blizzard hopes to foster stronger community bonds and make the world feel more persistent, even with layering. It's a small change with potentially big effects on how players connect.
For now, this is still in beta, so details could shift. But it's one of the more intriguing systems emerging from the test, and it shows Blizzard is thinking about how to make Azeroth feel more like a living community again.
What do you think of the 'recent allies' feature? Will it make you more likely to group up with randoms? Let us know in the comments!
