Witcher 3 Remastered Free Upgrade Hits Next Week, Game 50% Off Now
The Witcher 3 Remastered launches September 29 as a free upgrade for existing owners. The Complete Edition is currently 50% off, dropping the price to $24.99 on PS5, Xbox, and PC.
Are you ready to dive back into the world of The Witcher 3? With the free remastered upgrade just around the corner, there's never been a better time to grab the game—especially at half price.
CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3 Remastered will launch on September 29, and it'll be a free upgrade for anyone who already owns the original game. If you don't own it yet, you're in luck: the Complete Edition is currently 50% off on PS5, Xbox, and PC (GOG), bringing the price down to just $24.99. That's a steal for one of the best RPGs ever made.
The Complete Edition includes the base game plus both major expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. According to HowLongToBeat, the main story alone will take you about 76.5 hours, while completionists can sink around 233 hours into it. That's a massive amount of content to keep you busy until the next expansion, Songs of the Past, arrives sometime next year.
When the remastered version drops on Tuesday, September 29, it'll bring a host of improvements: enhanced graphics, better in-game traversal, a photo mode, and a revamped skill tree. It also adds an armor transmog system, new enemy behaviors, and new finishers. Even if you've already played the original, these changes make it worth another look.
And here's a nice bonus for Switch owners: if you own The Witcher 3 on the original Nintendo Switch, you'll be eligible for a free copy of The Witcher 3 Remastered for Switch 2. Since the remaster isn't coming to the original Switch, CD Projekt Red has set up a way to upgrade—you can find the details on their website.
So, whether you're a seasoned Witcher or a newcomer, this is the perfect opportunity to experience (or re-experience) one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Will you be picking up the Complete Edition at half price, or are you waiting for the free upgrade? Let us know in the comments!
