Wardogs Crosses $100M on Steam, But Arc Raiders and Helldivers 2 Still Rule

Wardogs has grossed over $100 million on Steam with 3.2 million copies sold, but it fell short of Arc Raiders and Helldivers 2 in the same period.

Did you jump into Wardogs when it hit early access last month? You're not alone — the multiplayer shooter has already pulled in over $100 million on Steam, according to analyst stats.

The game from developer Bulkhead launched publicly on September 10 and immediately exploded, attracting hundreds of thousands of players within hours. In a breakdown of September, Rhys Elliott, head of market analysis at Alinea Analytics, reported that Wardogs generated $86.9 million in revenue for the rest of the month. Add in pre-orders and other early sales, and the gross total has now crossed $100 million on Steam, with 3.2 million copies sold.

That's a massive start for a new IP, especially one still in early access. Elliott noted that Wardogs alone accounts for about a third of all new-2026-IP revenue on Steam for September. It's also still pulling in around 250,000 players per day, which is a healthy sign for a game that's still being built out.

But here's the catch: Wardogs couldn't quite match two other Steam heavyweights. Arc Raiders brought in $125 million during a similar window, while Helldivers 2 did $130 million. Both are similarly sized projects that also lit up Steam and the wider industry, so Wardogs is in good company — just not at the very top of the pile.

Still, context matters. Wardogs is in early access and already has a solid foundation to build on, as Elliott pointed out. Bulkhead has been candid about keeping up with demand in the coming weeks, which is a good problem to have. The game clearly has momentum, and with a steady player base, it has room to grow.

Meanwhile, Steam itself is on track to earn a record $20 billion this year, thanks to games like The Witcher 3 Remastered and Wardogs, according to the analyst. So even if Wardogs isn't the biggest fish in the pond, it's swimming in very profitable waters.

What do you think — is Wardogs worth diving into now, or will you wait until it leaves early access? Let us know in the comments.
