The Witcher 3 Remastered Gets a Massive Overhaul: Visuals, Combat & Gameplay

CD Projekt Red has completely revamped The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, adding path tracing, DLSS 4.5, enhanced combat, free DLC for existing owners, and more.
CD Projekt Red isn't done with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just yet. The studio has revealed a massive remastered overhaul that touches basically every part of the game, and honestly, it sounds like a whole new reason to dive back into Geralt's world.
Let's start with the eye candy. On PC, the remaster adds path tracing, ray-traced reconstruction, ray-traced hair, native DX12 support, DLSS 4.5, FSR 4, XESS 2.0, plus HDR and improved motion blur. That's a lot of acronyms, but the short version is: it's going to look absolutely gorgeous. Console players aren't left out either, with PS5 Pro enhancements and a release on Nintendo Switch 2.
Combat is getting some love too. There's a new adaptive combat camera, fresh execution animations, and upgraded witcher sign effects. Enemy behavior has also been tweaked, so fights should feel more dynamic. Horse pathfinding, character movement animations, and photo mode have all been improved, making map traversal smoother than ever.
Quality-of-life changes are everywhere. The UI and menu navigation have been updated, along with loot mechanics, the skill tree, quest tracking, the transmog system, meditation, tutorials, and accessibility features. It's the kind of polish that makes a long RPG feel fresh again.
And here's the best part for existing owners: if you already own the original game, you'll get the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions for free. The remaster also adds Xbox Play Anywhere and cross-platform mod support.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is coming to PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. Whether you're a veteran witcher or a newcomer, this version sounds like the definitive way to experience one of the best RPGs ever made.
