Tabletop RPGs Get Weird: Share Your Strangest Stories

PC Gamer's Fraser Brown asks for your weirdest tabletop RPG moments, sharing his own tales of earthquakes, betrayals, and echolalia.
Ever had a tabletop RPG session go completely off the rails? You know, the kind of weird that makes you question reality? PC Gamer's Online Editor Fraser Brown wants to hear about it.
In his regular column, Dungeon Master, Brown opens up about his own bizarre TTRPG experiences. He started playing later in life, but over the last 15 years, he's accumulated plenty of silly anecdotes. Like the time a companion puked on himself and blamed it on the "Vomit Bandit," or the evening he carried a massive table because it looked nice—and doubled as a battering ram.
One of his favorite stories involves a remote session about 15 years ago with a GM from New Zealand. They were playing in a steampunk-inspired West African city when the GM's screen started shaking. Stuff fell off the bookcase, and his partner rushed downstairs in a panic. It was an earthquake. They took a break, then got back to the game. Since Brown is from Scotland, where quakes are rare, he found it bizarre and a bit thrilling.
Then there was the Mothership session hosted by former senior editor Robin Valentine. Brown's character got infected with an alien virus, which he only learned about through chilling DMs from the GM. Paranoia set in, and he tried to flee to the spaceship. But a former guides editor shot him in the leg, his head popped off and grew tentacles, and then he ate her face. (Please don't tell HR.)
In Call of Cthulhu, Brown's character went mad after seeing a ghost and shot a fellow player with an elephant gun, disintegrating them. He then jumped in a taxi to escape, but thanks to echolalia, he could only repeat the last thing the driver said. Brown says he feels more sympathy for the taxi driver than the guy he shot.
Now he's turning the question to you: what's the weirdest thing that's happened in your tabletop sessions? Whether you play in person or remotely, he wants your strange stories, silly arguments, and tales of terrible GMs. So, what's your tale?
