Street Fighter's Chun-Li Actress Ate 12 Eggs a Day to Bulk Up
Callina Liang, playing Chun-Li in the live-action Street Fighter movie, reveals her intense training: 12 eggs daily and a 3-inch thigh gain. Her stunt double even needed padding to match her new physique.
You think you're dedicated to your fitness goals? Wait until you hear what the new Chun-Li is doing.
Callina Liang, the 26-year-old Canadian-Chinese actress playing Chun-Li in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie, just dropped a behind-the-scenes video from her training. And it's clear she's not messing around.
In the clip, Liang gives a shoutout to Megan, Chun-Li's lead stunt double, praising her for the constant encouragement and for holding nothing back when teaching techniques. She also highlights the wire team, noting that many of the film's high-difficulty moves rely on their expertise. These riggers not only keep actors safe but also pull off incredibly technical work that often goes unnoticed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Liang knew from the moment she landed the role that fans might question whether her physique matched the fighting goddess they know from the games. She herself worried her frame wasn't powerful enough to convey Chun-Li's strength. But instead of taking the criticism personally, she turned it into fuel, determined to earn the audience's respect through sheer effort.
So she went all in. Multiple strength sessions per week, daily stunt and martial arts practice, and a strict diet. That diet reportedly includes downing 12 eggs a day to support muscle growth and her intense training regimen.
And since Chun-Li's signature style is all about devastating kicks, Liang focused heavily on her legs. Her thigh circumference reportedly increased by nearly 3 inches (about 7.6 cm). The change was so dramatic that her stunt double actually needed hip pads to match Liang's new shape when they swapped in and out during filming.
Now that's what you call commitment. Are you hyped to see Liang bring Chun-Li to life on the big screen? Let us know in the comments!
