Silent Hill: Townfall Launches September 24, Japanese Voice Cast Revealed

Silent Hill fans, your next trip into the fog finally has a date. Silent Hill: Townfall is officially launching on September 24 for PS5, Steam, and Epic.

The reveal came during Konami's "KONAMI PRESS START" broadcast on September 4, where the team pulled back the curtain on the Japanese voice cast. Since then, the official Japanese account has been feeding us short clips of the dub in action, and honestly, it's sounding pretty great.

So what's Townfall actually about? The story drops you into 1996 on Saint Amelia, a remote Scottish island swallowed by thick fog. You play as Simon Ordell, who washes ashore after being tossed around by the waves. If that doesn't set the mood, nothing will.

Gameplay-wise, this one goes first-person. And here's a fun twist for longtime fans: the series' iconic radio is gone. In its place is a handheld analog TV device called the CRTV. Instead of listening for static, you'll be tuning frequencies to sniff out hidden threats and pick up scattered clues. It's a neat spin on a classic mechanic.

On the Japanese dub side, the big name confirmed is Akio Otsuka. If you know your anime and games, you know his voice — he's a legend in the Japanese industry. The official account has been sharing footage of the Japanese performances, giving fans a taste of how the cast brings Saint Amelia's creepy vibes to life.

Now for the money stuff. The standard edition will run you 7,480 yen (roughly 360 RMB), while the deluxe edition comes in at 8,580 yen (about 410 RMB). Shell out for the deluxe version and you'll get 48-hour early access to the game. Not a bad deal if you can't wait to dive in.

One more thing worth noting: Townfall is being co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. That partnership alone has a lot of people curious about how this one will turn out.
