Sifu Kicks Its Way Onto iOS and Android This October
Sloclap's kung-fu brawler Sifu is coming to iOS and Android on October 12, bringing its stylish third-person combat to mobile players.
Ever wanted to master kung-fu on your phone? Well, you're about to get your chance. Sloclap is bringing Sifu, its stylish third-person brawler, to iOS and Android on October 12.
If you missed it on console or PC, Sifu is all about kung-fu combat, and it's earned plenty of praise for its tight, challenging fights. You play as a young martial artist on a quest for revenge, and every death ages you a little more. Get older, get wiser, but also get closer to your final breath.
That aging mechanic is what makes Sifu stand out. You don't just respawn fresh after a beating. Each time you fall, you come back a bit older, and your skills shift with the years. It's a clever twist that keeps every run tense and forces you to really learn the combat instead of brute-forcing your way through.
Now that experience is heading to mobile. Sloclap hasn't shared every detail about how the touch controls will work or whether there'll be controller support, but the October 12 date is locked in for both iOS and Android. That means you'll soon be able to throw down on the bus, in line for coffee, or wherever you happen to be.
Mobile ports of big action games are always a bit of a gamble, but Sifu's focused combat could translate well to a phone screen. The game's rhythm and precision are its heart, so the big question is how those translate to touch. We'll find out soon enough.
If you've already played Sifu elsewhere, this is a chance to revisit it on the go. If you haven't, October 12 gives you a whole new way to jump in. Either way, mark your calendar.
What do you think? Will you be picking up Sifu on mobile, or are you sticking with console and PC?
