PS5's New AI Upscaler QSSR Is Here - Which Third-Party Game Will Use It First?

Sony's QSSR AI upscaling tech is now live on base PS5 with two first-party patches, and the big question is which third-party game will adopt it next.
Sony just dropped a big upgrade for base PS5 owners. On October 1, the company officially announced Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), an AI upscaling tech that's now available on the standard console. Two first-party games got patched right away to show it off, and naturally, everyone's attention has already shifted to one question: which third-party game will be the first to support it?
Some players think QSSR was built with huge year-end releases like GTA 6 in mind, and expect third-party studios to jump on board around the game's November launch window. Others point to tech outlet Digital Foundry and Sony graphics engineers, who've said games already using PSSR can call on QSSR directly without extra development work. That means recently finished titles could theoretically adapt faster than we think. Not everyone agrees, though - some argue the first wave of support is more likely to come from unreleased games, since already-shipped titles might not be a top priority.
When it comes to specific guesses, the nominations are all over the place. Some say Black Myth: Wukong needs this tech the most to improve its visuals. Others are betting on Resident Evil 9: Requiem or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. There's also buzz around the Chinese action game Phantom Blade Zero, with fans saying it "should have had this from the start." And of course, GTA 6 remains one of the most frequently mentioned names.
Right now, Sony has opened QSSR up to all PlayStation developers, but there's no official list yet of which third-party games will follow suit or when update patches will roll out. For regular PS5 players, whether QSSR grows from a "two first-party flex" into a truly widespread option depends entirely on how quickly other studios jump in.
Which third-party game do you think will support QSSR first? Drop your predictions in the comments.
