Say hello to Doctrine, the hero shooter's newest support hero, who made his debut during BlizzCon 2026's opening ceremony. And yes, he's exactly what you think: a blood-sucking, sceptre-wielding vampire fantasy come to life.

For a game that's always leaned hard into optimistic sci-fi—explaining every hero's powers with science, even when magic creeps in—Doctrine feels like a big leap into full-on fantasy. He's described by Blizzard as the "ultimate vampire fantasy," and his kit backs that up. His sceptre heals and speeds up teammates while also dishing out serious damage to enemies, making him an extremely powerful hero with a high mechanical floor. If you're the type who likes a challenge, he might be your new main.

But that's not all he brings. Doctrine can also unleash a swarm of bat drones, infuse allies, and "manipulate life force." Sounds about right for a vampire, doesn't it? His real name is Tamuka Yeukai, and he hails from Zimbabwe. He's also joined by a brand-new Escort map called Watchpoint: Grimsvotn, which depicts the Icelandic prison he's seen escaping in his debut cinematic. Talk about a dramatic entrance.

Lore-wise, Doctrine fights for Talon, and his trailer reveals he's a close friend of Doomfist.
