Miami Heat to Wear GTA 6 Uniforms in November Game

The Miami Heat will sport GTA 6-themed uniforms and play on a custom court against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 18, one day before GTA 6 launches.
Ever wondered what an NBA game would look like if it took place in Vice City? Well, you're about to find out. The Miami Heat are going all-in on Grand Theft Auto 6 with a special one-night-only event against the Milwaukee Bucks, and it's shaping up to be one of the coolest crossovers we've seen in a while.
The event, dubbed "A Night in Vice City," will be broadcast live on ESPN and will feature the Heat wearing an "all-new uniform on a never-before-seen court." If you're thinking this sounds like a giant GTA 6 marketing stunt sponsored by Take-Two and Rockstar Games, you're probably right—and honestly, we're here for it. The game tips off at 7pm EST / 4pm PT on November 18 at the Kaseya Center, which is just one day before GTA 6 officially launches.
But the crossover doesn't stop at the court. A bunch of fancy merch has already popped up on the Miami Heat store, celebrating all things Vice City. And if you happened to be near the Kaseya Center yesterday, you might have noticed the top of the arena lit up in honor of the collaboration between Rockstar and Miami's home team. Apparently, this took some lengthy negotiations with local officials over how much Rockstar could use Miami as a base for creative advertising. Sounds like it was worth the effort.
For those who need a quick refresher, GTA 6 takes place in Leonida, a fictional version of Florida, with its crown jewel being a virtual recreation of Miami called Vice City. In the game, the Kaseya Center is known as the Sahara Arena, so seeing the real-life arena transformed into something out of the game is a fun bit of symmetry.
Other studios are definitely paying attention to what Rockstar is doing here. Earlier, one of the founders of the studio behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance pointed to GTA 6's pricing as a potential turning point for the industry and video game prices in general. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has also weighed in on the price speculation, saying, "Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery." GTA 6 will cost $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, which includes extra in-game content. The game launches for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles on November 19.
So, whether you're a Heat fan, a GTA fan, or just someone who loves a good crossover event, November 18 is going to be a night to remember. Will you be tuning in to see the Heat rock those Vice City uniforms? Let us know in the comments!
