Metroid Prime 4 Hits Record Low Price: Just £20!

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond drops to just £19.97 at Amazon UK, a massive saving of £36.02. It's also discounted in the US. Is it worth grabbing?

Have you been holding off on Metroid Prime 4 Beyond because of its price? Well, you might want to reconsider, because it's just hit a record low. The Nintendo Switch version is down to just £19.97 at Amazon UK. That's not a typo—a first-party Nintendo game for under twenty quid is practically unheard of.

I'll admit, I wasn't planning to pick this up either. I was waiting for Metroid Prime 3 to hit the NSO GameCube library so I could catch up on the series. But at this price, it's a no-brainer. I even grabbed a copy for myself. The game originally launched on December 4 for £55.99, so you're saving a whopping £36.02. That's enough to cover the Switch 2 upgrade pack from the eShop and still have a couple of pounds left over.

For those in the US, it's also discounted to $34.99 at Best Buy, but you'll need to add it to your cart to see the lower price. Still, that's a solid deal for a game that's less than a year old. And if you're a Switch 2 owner, you can grab this Switch version and the Upgrade Pack for as little as £7.99 via the eShop. The Switch 2 Edition typically sells for around £29.99, so you'd still save a couple of quid. Plus, the Switch 2 version is just the Switch game with a redeemable upgrade pack, so you're not missing out on anything.

Why is this such a big deal? First-party Nintendo games rarely see discounts like this, especially so soon after launch. Take The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild—it's nine years old and still sells for around £45 at many UK retailers. So seeing Metroid Prime 4 Beyond at under £20 is a rare treat.

There's also a buzz about some Switch 2 games going for as low as £20 at Argos, but reports suggest it might be a glitch. Multiple people have had their orders canceled, including one user who tried to grab Metroid Prime 4. So while it's worth a shot, the Amazon deal seems to be the real deal.

If you've been on the fence about Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, this is probably the best time to jump in. Whether you're playing on the original Switch or upgrading to the Switch 2 version, you're getting a fantastic game for a fraction of the usual price. So, will you be picking this up?
