Metal Gear Series Hits 67.7 Million Sales, Konami Confirms
Konami's latest figures show the Metal Gear franchise has sold 67.7 million copies worldwide, up 1.3 million since June, with Metal Gear Solid 3 remake passing 2 million.
Konami just dropped some fresh numbers, and Metal Gear fans have reason to celebrate. The publisher updated the "Digital Entertainment Business" page on its official website, revealing that the Metal Gear series has now sold 67.7 million copies worldwide. That's a solid 1.3 million more than what was reported back in June.
It's been a long and legendary run for the franchise. Since the very first game launched back in 1987, Metal Gear has built up a massive global following and cemented itself as one of Konami's flagship brands. Pretty impressive for a series that started with a guy sneaking around a military base.
And Konami isn't just resting on past glories. The company has been actively pushing the classic series forward in recent years. In 2025, Metal Gear Solid 3: Remake launched, and by March 2026, Konami announced the game had surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide. That's a strong showing for a remake of a beloved classic.
On top of that, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 has also been released, giving a whole new generation of players a chance to experience these iconic titles. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer curious about what all the fuss is about, there's never been a better time to dive in.
The series is available across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, so you've got options no matter what platform you're on. With sales still climbing and new releases keeping the spirit alive, Metal Gear's legacy is clearly showing no signs of slowing down.
So, what's your favorite Metal Gear moment? Are you one of the millions who picked up the remake, or are you still working through the Master Collection? Let us know in the comments!
