Marvel's Wolverine QTE Auto-Complete Sparks Debate

Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine lets QTEs finish themselves no matter what you press, and a journalist's report on the accessibility feature has players talking.
Marvel's Wolverine is almost here, and one of its accessibility features is getting a lot of attention. The Insomniac Games action-adventure title launches September 15 on PS5, and according to game journalist Destin Legarie, its QTEs can complete themselves.
Legarie recently took to social media to talk about the QTE controversy surrounding the game. In his impressions, he noted that the auto-complete accessibility option means QTEs will finish on their own no matter how you tweak your settings. Press the wrong button? Doesn't matter. It still counts as a success.
The feature comes from Insomniac, a first-party PlayStation studio, as part of its accessibility push. Sony has been steadily investing in accessibility options in recent years, lowering the barrier for players with limited mobility or slower reaction times. The goal is simple: let more people experience Marvel's Wolverine's story and combat spectacle without getting stuck on a QTE prompt.
The game ships with a large set of customizable assistance options, designed to accommodate different physical needs and play styles. It's a reminder that games don't have to be reserved for quick-reflex hardcore players only.
Of course, anytime a big-budget action game adds a feature like this, the debate kicks off. Some folks love that everyone gets to see the story through. Others worry it waters down the challenge. Either way, it's optional, and that's the whole point.
What do you think? Would you leave QTE auto-complete on, or do you want every button press to matter? Let us know in the comments.
