GTA 6 Rating Leak Reveals Decapitation and Drug Use

A hastily deleted PEGI rating for GTA 6 exposed new details about graphic violence, drug mechanics, and sexual content, giving players a glimpse of what to expect.
Did you catch that PEGI rating for GTA 6 before it vanished? The European age ratings board briefly posted its assessment of the game, and then quickly deleted it—but not before the internet grabbed screenshots. And let's just say, the details are wild.
Unsurprisingly, GTA 6 is rated 18+ by PEGI and Mature by the ESRB. But PEGI went way beyond the usual boilerplate. According to the now-deleted listing, the game features "strong graphic violence, strong sexual themes, and use of illegal drugs." That's not exactly shocking for a GTA title, but the specifics are what got everyone talking.
On the violence front, PEGI described it as "bloody with a high degree of realism," noting that certain weapons can cause "detailed decapitation and dismemberment." That's a big step up from previous GTA games, where you'd see blood pools and bullet wounds, but limbs stayed attached. If you thought GTA 5 was brutal, this sounds like a whole new level.
Then there's the drug use. PEGI called it "frequent and prominent," and revealed that players can "use illegal drugs directly from their inventory." They even gave an example: "cocaine can be carried around by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time." So it's not just a cutscene thing—you can apparently get high on the fly. What that means for gameplay mechanics is anyone's guess, but it's a bold move.
Sexual content also got a detailed breakdown. The rating mentions "scenes of intercourse and occasional scenes of sexual fetishes." There's also a strip club minigame where you can "pay for private dances," and the game "allows the player to move their hands onto the dancers' breasts and buttocks." Classic GTA, but it raises questions about how Rockstar will handle the more intimate moments—especially given the focus on Jason and Lucia's relationship in the August gameplay reveal.
Speaking of which, that relationship can be romantic or not, but the game supports playing them as a long-term couple. So will sex be played for laughs, or will it be treated seriously as part of their story? Probably a bit of both, knowing Rockstar. Either way, we won't have to wait too long to find out.
GTA 6 launches on consoles on November 19. A PC version hasn't been confirmed yet, so PC players are still in limbo. What do you think about these leaked details? Are you excited for a more realistic GTA, or is this too much? Let us know in the comments!
