GTA 6 Launch Day? This $5 Platformer Says Bring It On

Devolver Digital is dropping Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed on the same day as GTA 6. It's a cheeky, Game Boy Color-style platformer that's actually an original game, not a remaster—and it costs just $5.
Think you'll be busy with GTA 6 on November 19? Well, Devolver Digital is betting some of you might want a break from the crime sim—and they're releasing a little something called Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed that same day. But here's the twist: it's a "remaster of the second remake of the original monochrome action-platformer starring the most famous video game mascot of all time." Except... none of that is true.
The original Volvy's Adventure doesn't exist. This isn't a remaster at all—it's a brand new game. And Volvy? He's Devolver's tongue-in-cheek mascot, but "most famous of all time"? Not even close. So what are you actually getting? A Game Boy Color-style 2D platformer from Doinksoft, the studio behind Gato Roboto and Gunbrella. You play as Volvy, a rat-like creature (I think?) with one giant hand and one tiny one.
And it looks like a blast. The trailer shows Volvy dashing through levels, collecting onions, bouncing on enemy heads, and battling bosses. He can even transform into Swolvy, a hulked-out alter ego that smashes through anything. The whole thing is absurd, but that's the charm. The vibrant art style, popping soundtrack, and kinetic movement are pure Game Boy Color nostalgia, but with modern polish.
So why launch against GTA 6? Well, not everyone is into open-world crime, and GTA 6 is pricey—$80 or even $100—and it's not on PC at launch. Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed is just $5, offering a cheap, cheerful alternative for those who want something different on that day. And Volvy isn't alone: The Binding of Isaac: Repentance+ Online also drops on November 19, adding online co-op to the classic.
Will you be picking up Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed, or are you all in on GTA 6? Let us know in the comments!
