Ghost of Tsushima Anime 'Legends' Officially Lands 2028 Release

Sony has confirmed the Ghost of Tsushima spin-off anime 'Legends' will arrive in 2028, with a star-studded creative team led by director Takanobu Mizuno.
Ghost of Tsushima fans, get ready to mark your calendars. Sony has officially announced that the anime spin-off, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, is locked in for a 2028 release.
The reveal went down at New York Comic Con during Crunchyroll's special panel, according to Game Watch. If you've sunk hours into the game's co-op mode, you already know why this is a big deal.
The anime is based on the popular multiplayer mode "Legends" from the hit action game Ghost of Tsushima, and it's being brought to life by Kamikaze Douga, a studio known for its striking visual style. The creative lineup is stacked: Takanobu Mizuno directs, with Gen Urobuchi and Ken Maeshima handling the script, and Noriyasu Okazaki on character design. That's a serious dream team right there.
But wait, there's more. The panel also unveiled several new crew members. Kenji Iuchi is composing the music, Miyuki Iwanami takes on sound direction, and Yasumasa Koyama handles sound effects. On top of that, the title calligraphy for "Legends" was written by calligrapher Akisho Suzuki, and voice actors Mayumi Sako and Shinsuke Fukumatsu have joined the cast.
Production is currently in full swing, with HAYATE overseeing the project as chief supervisor. More details about the story, the full voice cast, and the premiere date are expected to drop later, so keep your eyes peeled.
With a 2028 window, there's still a bit of a wait, but given the talent involved, it sounds like it'll be worth it. What do you think of the creative team so far? Let us know in the comments!
