Ghost Driver Best Starter Upgrade: Handling vs Speed Explained

Should you buy speed or handling first in Ghost Driver? Use this practical upgrade guide to match Cash spending with your actual driving weakness.
The best first upgrade in Ghost Driver depends on why your runs end. Two players can use the same starter car and need completely different improvements.
## Choose handling first if you crash in traffic
If lane changes feel sharp, corrections overshoot, or the car becomes difficult to place near other vehicles, handling is the priority. A small increase in control can improve both survival and Cash income because the run lasts longer.
## Choose acceleration if you lose momentum
Acceleration helps when the car is stable but takes too long to recover after a slow corner or traffic interruption. It is especially useful for players who already maintain a clean line and want to return to cruising speed sooner.
## Choose top speed last
Top speed looks attractive in a dealership, but it has limited value if the road is crowded or you cannot control the car at speed. Treat it as a later upgrade after you can complete consistent runs.
## Test the upgrade instead of guessing
Use the same highway section before and after a purchase. Compare crashes, average run length, and how often you can maintain a multiplier. A faster car that crashes more is not a real upgrade for your account.
## Keep a Cash reserve
Ghost Driver is being actively developed in PRE-ALPHA. Saving some Cash protects you from an update that introduces a more useful car or changes the balance of the dealership. Use codes for a boost, but do not spend every reward immediately.
The correct upgrade is the one that improves your repeatable result. Build control first, then add speed when your driving can use it.
