Fruit Ninja Dev's New Golf Game Scores 98% Positive on Steam

Luke Muscat, designer of Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, just released Normal Golf Game. It's already 98% Very Positive on Steam after two days.
Ever dreamed of a golf game where you can tee off from anywhere, but trying to go home is a terrible idea? That's Normal Golf Game, the latest solo project from Luke Muscat—the designer behind Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride. It's only been out for two days, and it's already sitting at 98% Very Positive reviews on Steam. Not bad for a game he thought was "putting this game out to die."
Normal Golf Game is exactly what it sounds like: a relaxing 18 holes with singing birds and a gentle breeze. But there's a twist—you can tee from anywhere, and it doesn't matter where your ball goes. Just don't try to leave the course. That's bad. It's a completely ridiculous spin on golf, and players are loving it.
To celebrate the launch, Muscat posted a YouTube video titled "My game is out and I have to stop doing this." In it, he opens up about the toll of game development. "This is working myself into oblivion until I'm burning myself on every single project," he says. "That's what needs to stop. That's what I can't keep doing on every release." He admits he's said that before, but this time he means it. "This is undoubtedly the hardest I've ever worked on any game in the last 20 years of my career." He's proud of that, but also knows it's unsustainable.
Many developers can relate to that feeling—pouring everything into a project until there's nothing left. Muscat's honesty is refreshing, and it's clearly paid off. Despite his fears, Normal Golf Game has found an audience. It's a testament to his talent and the quirky charm that made his previous games so beloved.
If you want to support Muscat, you can grab Normal Golf Game on Steam. There are also bundles with other golf sims if that's your thing. And hey, if you're a fan of indie games, this is one eagle you won't want to miss.
So, what do you think? Will you be teeing off in Normal Golf Game? Let us know in the comments!
