Forza Horizon 6 Itasha Bans Spark Outrage Over Inconsistent Rules

Forza Horizon 6 players are getting banned for anime-style 'itasha' liveries, but the rules are so vague that creators say enforcement feels random and unfair.
Forza Horizon 6 is in hot water, and this time it's not about a broken drivetrain. Players who create "itasha" liveries—those anime-style car wraps—are reporting bans ranging from a month-long suspension to permanent account and even device bans. The kicker? Nobody seems to know exactly which design crossed the line.
Playground Games' code of conduct explicitly allows itasha-style designs but draws the line at anything too revealing, specifically calling out "suggestive poses, facial expressions, and emphasis on certain body parts." Sounds clear enough, right? Not even close. Players argue those descriptions are wildly subjective. Creators have been told after appealing that their ban was triggered by a character's pose or a low neckline. And here's the part that's really raising eyebrows: some claim even unfinished sketches sitting in the garage editor—never published, never shared—have triggered bans.
Rumors started flying that mass reporting was leading to automatic bans. Playground Games pushed back by updating the code of conduct, stressing that every report is reviewed by a human and that the number of reports doesn't affect priority. Permanent bans, they say, are reserved only for zero-tolerance violations. But that hasn't done much to calm the community.
The appeal process, according to players, has been rough. One creator says they submitted an appeal on the official forums and heard nothing back for over a month—still with no clue which livery got them banned. Others point out that designs featuring female characters that are noticeably more revealing than their own work have received lighter punishments or none at all, while they're staring down a permanent ban. The word "inconsistent" comes up a lot.
What's really bugging folks is the lack of transparency. If you're going to hand out permanent bans, you should at least be able to tell someone which specific design broke the rules. Right now, creators are left guessing, and that's a quick way to kill a community that thrives on custom content. Itasha liveries are a huge part of the Forza scene, and nobody wants to get zapped for something they didn't even know was a problem.
Playground Games has updated its rules, but the community wants more than a paragraph on a website. They want clear guidelines, consistent enforcement, and a real appeals process that doesn't leave people hanging for weeks. Until then, the debate over what's acceptable and what's bannable is going to keep raging.
What do you think—should Playground Games be more specific about what's allowed, or are players overreacting? Drop your take in the comments.
