Domino's Trolls PlayStation Again With a 'Digital Pizza'

Domino's UK is back at it, mocking Sony's move away from physical game discs by unveiling a 'digital pizza' topped with olives spelling DIGITAL.
Just when you thought the beef between Domino's and PlayStation couldn't get any cheesier, the pizza chain has fired another saucy shot. On September 12, Domino's UK hopped on social media to poke fun at Sony's decision to stop making physical game discs—and they did it with a literal digital pizza.
The post's first image set the tone: "When someone in the gaming industry says they're moving from physical to digital games, we listened carefully. So today, on National Video Games Day, we proudly present... our brand new DIGITAL pizza." The second image? A real Domino's pie with black olives arranged to spell out "DIGITAL" in big, bold letters. Subtle? Not even a little.
This isn't the first time Domino's has taken a slice out of Sony's digital-only ambitions. Previously, the official account joked that "in order to keep up with the gaming industry's digital trend, starting April 1, 2027, Domino's will discontinue physical pizzas and fully transition to digital virtual pizzas." A clear April Fools' gag, but the message was loud and clear: they think the all-digital future is a bit hard to swallow.
And they didn't stop at PlayStation. Domino's also threw shade at the new God of War saga for not putting Kratos in the lead role, tweeting: "A God of War game without Kratos is like a Pepperoni Passion pizza without pepperoni." Ouch. That's a burn even the Blade of Chaos couldn't match.
So why is a pizza company so invested in gaming drama? Honestly, it's just good old-fashioned brand trolling. Domino's knows gamers love a good meme, and they're serving them hot and fresh. Whether you agree with Sony's digital push or not, you've gotta admit—Domino's is delivering laughs, even if they're not delivering discs.
What do you think? Is Sony making a mistake by ditching physical games, or is Domino's just crusty about change? Let us know in the comments—and maybe order a pizza while you're at it.
