Diablo 4's Amazon Class Arrives as Paid DLC, Not an Expansion

Blizzard revealed the Amazon as Diablo 4's next class at BlizzCon, but it's coming as a separate DLC pack in 2027, not a full expansion. Season 30, Hell's Legacy, launches September 15.
Did you see that coming? Blizzard just dropped a big reveal at BlizzCon: the Amazon is officially the next class coming to Diablo 4. But here's the twist—it's not part of a full expansion. Instead, you'll be able to buy the Amazon as a standalone DLC class pack sometime in the first half of next year.
If you've been following Diablo 4's story, this probably doesn't shock you. The Amazon is a beloved class from Diablo 2, so bringing it back is a total nostalgia play. Plus, the game's latest expansion, Lord of Hatred, literally took players to Skovos—the home of the Amazons. They were all over the expansion's story, but you couldn't play as one. Instead, Lord of Hatred added the Paladin and Warlock to the roster. So yeah, the writing was kind of on the wall.
But before the Amazon arrives in 2027, there's plenty to keep you busy. Diablo 4's next season, Hell's Legacy, kicks off next week on September 15. It's a celebration of the franchise's 30th anniversary, and it's bringing back enemies, locations, and items from previous Diablo games. That includes the return of Deckard Cain, who will guide players on a journey to confront Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto. That's right—the Lord of Terror himself is finally making an appearance in Diablo 4.
Oh, and if you missed the leak earlier, it's now official: Diablo 4 is coming to the Switch 2. There's a Lord of Hatred collection that bundles both of the game's expansions, so newcomers can jump in with everything so far. Whether you're a veteran or a fresh face, there's a lot to look forward to.
So, what do you think about the Amazon being sold as a separate DLC instead of being part of an expansion? Are you excited to finally play as one, or does the wait until 2027 feel a bit too long? And will you be diving into Hell's Legacy when it drops next week? Let us know in the comments!
