Dead by Daylight's Haunted by Daylight Event Returns: What's New

Dead by Daylight's Halloween event Haunted by Daylight is back with new mechanics and free rewards. The Void dimension is gone, but Void rifts now teleport players across the map.
Ready for some spooky fun in Dead by Daylight? The Haunted by Daylight Halloween event is returning, and it's bringing some big changes along with your favorite frights.
Mark your calendars: the event kicks off on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm BST. That's when the horror really begins.
So what's different this year? The biggest change is that the Void dimension is gone. No more disappearing into portals and running around an extra location—feedback showed that made gameplay feel disjointed. Instead, Void rifts still appear, but now they teleport you quickly across the map. That's a game-changer, especially if you're a survivor being chased. You can use those rifts to make a quick escape or reposition strategically.
Of course, the event wouldn't be complete without some sweet rewards. By completing event quests, you can unlock free cosmetics, including a Shane outfit, a Hillbilly outfit, survivor shirts, and killer masks. These are totally free, and they look awesome—especially that Hillbilly skin. There will also be additional outfits to purchase from the in-game store during the event, but if you're all about the freebies, you're covered.
October is packed for Dead by Daylight fans. Alongside the event, there's a new Rift and more cosmetic collections hitting the Shop. So even after you've grabbed your free rewards, there's plenty to keep you busy.
Will you be diving into the Haunted by Daylight event? What are you most excited to unlock? Let us know in the comments!
