Call of Duty 23: Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2 — 30FPS Campaign Is Fine, Says Preview

A Nintendo Life preview says the Switch 2 version of Call of Duty 23: Modern Warfare 4 isn't a watered-down port, hitting a locked 30FPS with only minor visual cutbacks.
Call of Duty is finally back on a Nintendo console after nearly 13 years, and the early word is surprisingly solid. Call of Duty 23: Modern Warfare 4, developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, launches October 23, 2026, on PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Life just dropped a hands-on preview of the Switch 2 campaign, and it's not the compromised mess some players feared.
Let's get the big question out of the way: is the Switch 2 version a stripped-down afterthought? According to Nintendo Life, no. The site played through the full campaign, which spans 16 levels and takes roughly 8 hours to finish, and came away calling it a proper port rather than a cut-down cash-in. Pre-order folks can already dive into the complete campaign early, with the game unlocking fully on October 24. Reviews of other modes are still to come.
The port is handled by Digital Legends, and the campaign targets 30FPS. During play, there weren't any major frame drops, which is reassuring for a handheld hybrid. There are visual trade-offs, naturally: textures, hair, and fire effects see some downgrades. You also get two image options — Filmic SMAA and Switch 2 DLSS. DLSS cleans up jaggies and texture detail, though the difference between the two modes isn't massive in actual play. Cross-platform saves are supported too, so you can hop between Switch 2 and PC and keep your progress.
The reviewer is upfront that, side by side with PC and other consoles, the Switch 2 version does have a visible graphics gap. But for anyone used to Nintendo platform ports, the quality here is totally acceptable. Both handheld and docked modes let you experience the full campaign without that "lite version" feeling.
So if you're a Switch 2 owner itching for some Call of Duty action, this one sounds like it'll scratch the itch just fine. Are you planning to pick it up on Nintendo's console, or will you stick with PC or PlayStation? Let us know!
